Hey, I’m Sean

Life doesn’t always go as planned, but I know I am exactly where I want to be.

I’ve always been happiest working outdoors, so after growing up on building sites and working at Farrell's Nurseries, studying landscape design was a natural choice. Fulltime study went on hold while I followed an exciting rugby career with the Blues, Chiefs and Māori All Blacks, but horticulture papers on the side kept feeding my interest.

I knew rugby wasn’t forever, so when I retired earlier than expected due to injury, my passion for landscape design and construction became a business. I’ve taken the skills and values of the rugby field to make Onsite Landscapes something special. Our work is only as good as our team and we give each project everything we’ve got, constantly improving and growing our skills.

Meet Gary de Beer

Over the last 50 years award winning landscape architect Gary de Beer has designed some of the most beautiful gardens in Auckland. Gary has been integral to the success of Onsite Landscapes, from mentoring Sean as he studied landscaping, to teaching the team plant care, handling and planting. 

Gary now designs exclusively for Onsite Landscapes. With his vast knowledge of plants and experience designing practical yet visually appealing landscapes, he is involved throughout the process, from design to site shaping, earthworks and plant choice.
